There is no such word as luck in My vocabulary!

In the words of Robert Heinlein : There is no such thing as luck. There is only adequate or inadequate preparation to cope with a statistical universe.

If it seems like coincidence well there is a name for that where I come from and it's called divine providence . There is nothing in this life that happens without it being foreseen by God , yet most people forget to call on Him for help. There is an evil one as well unfortunately . As shit happens good things happen too.

Allow me to give you a good example . In a message of True Life In God Vassula writes of an incident .
In our new flat the concierge closes and locks the main entrance to the flats by 10.00 at night. Last night we had forgotten our key in the flat. On seeing the door closed we knew we were locked out. I went to the door pleading, "O God, don't tell me it's locked let it be open! please!" It was locked, but at the same minute one of the neighbours was just arriving too and opened it.
You'd think it's just a coincidence or that it was lucky that the neighbour arrived at that moment but it is God who helps us.
Behind every happening there is a providence.

Anticipating Autumn

I look forward to surviving another year without getting a cold or some other god forsaken flu. I plan on taking vitamin C for that . Quite frankly I look forward to the weather cooling off so I can shut my air conditioner off because it’s using up a lot of electricity and my enmax bill won’t be so high. Otherwise I look forward to snow . I don’t have to rake any leaves either .

Talkers block

I don't talk very often - {imagine that}- but when I do , words are said here and there. I think I suffer from talkers block . I mean my feelings and attitudes get in the way. When my boyfriend gets up early in the mornin , I'm usually still sleeping . He comes in to kiss me goodbye and occasionally I am aware of his kiss but afterwards I spend the whole day alone and no , I don't talk to myself {would I suffer from talkers block if I did?}. I like the aloneness and quiet , just in case you think I don't. Most of my time is spent quietly on the computer but nothing ever gets accomplished or retained unless I read out loud . I don't write blog-after-blog-of-great-topics even though when I have one you would think I could write more than a few words , but no : it doesn't happen .

Seth Godin has some advice for writers block  : Just write poorly. Continue to write poorly, in public, until you can write better.

Fancy that ! I've always found blogging a little frustrating. I'm uncomfortable in letting much of anything real come out but I really wish I could write better.
BTW, my boyfriends kiss is like the morning dew .

Yard Free Maintenance

Big Trees Little Girls
When my sister and I walked through an older neighborhood in North-Vancouver we noticed some pretty nice curb appeal. The lawns were well kept and the flowers bloomed in the front yard . The lush greenery was a marvel to look at . It made us feel thankful .

Amid this beautiful scenery , nothing could have been more unexpected and stifling then this one front yard.

It brought tears to our eyes from laughing so hard. In spite of how unsightly and unnatural it was, I'd never seen a maintenance free gravel yard before! I wonder if anyone else found it as funny as we did that day.

I understand the appeal in not having to mow the lawn but it failed because taking the beauty of nature and removing it must be hard work and the amount of time it takes to keep everything from growing in vancouver could be a major challenge. Maybe they couldn't grow anything and everything died on them , who knows , maybe they just gave up . Losers.

What Makes Me Smile

When someone is taking pictures . I Smile and say :" cheese" like a dork.We also like to make hilarious bunny ears . It's funny but just looking at this pic makes me smile :)

Feed the Hungry

This is a great idea even I can do . Feeding the hungry is one of the corporal works of mercy . I found these sandwich wrappers to be an easy and fun project and even though you can wrap your kids' sandwiches with them I think they are suitable for the hungry (or anyone for that matter) . Ann voskamp has a website called Holy Experience where you can get the download . Follow the link

Dear So & So...Non-Believer

Dear Atheist;

Do you not know the difference between good and evil? Don't give me none of this 'but-evil-and-good-are-subjective' crap.

Your incessant incredulity; It's not my problem.

The devil is EVIL ; God is GOOD. Do you see that? They are REAL   ...

Bite me

Dear Bishop Grandin,

I won't be attending your high school reunion .You kicked me out remember?

I never threw a pencil across the room like the beauty culture teacher said I did but you told my dad I was being unruly.

Pray A Marian Minute

Your day has 1,440 minutes; can you spend one with Mary? (click on the link)
Give your day a minute to pray!
Come and spend a minute with Mary and spread the word!
Peace be with you

Launched on the "Feast of the Assumption" August 15th at World Youth Day in Madrid Spain, www.marianminute.org challenges people to spend a Minute with Mary. The idea is that dedicating only one minute for prayer, less time than brushing your teeth, we can set aside life's distractions, refresh our souls, and find inspiration in our Blessed Mother. The hope is that visitors will make a daily habit of it, and begin to form the foundation of a solid prayer life.[taken from their facebook page]
