Review: Dreams of A Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole

Dreams of a Dark Warrior (Immortals After Dark, #11)

Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole

My rating: 3 of 5 stars I liked It!

From #1 New York Times bestseller Kresley Cole comes this gripping tale of a battle-maddenend warrior driven by revenge and the Valkyrie temptress who haunts his dreams.

This book has everything I like in a paranormal romance. A mix of gods, sex, and immortal creatures. Although the Dark Warrior, Declan Chase is a mortal, technically he's a Berserker and still part of the Lore. The Lore is a secret plane coexisting with man's. When Berserkers win two hundred battles in the name of Woden, then they are granted immortality - ohalla.

Once upon a time a long time ago , The Valkyrie, Regin the Radiant fell in love with a mortal warrior, Aiden the Fierce. As the fates would have it, he dies and vows to come back for her.

Each time he comes back reincarnated as someone else. This happens 5 times over a thousand years possessing none of his memories of Regin or of Aiden . She waited and was faithful and loyal to him for she loved him. But everytime it happened that she ended up kissing Aiden whether he was reincarnated as a pirate or some other strong character, he died. That broke her heart over and over.

I could have strangled Declan Chase for being such a prick. He stabs Regin with a sword to the chest, twists it, kidnaps her and throws her in a jail cell!! Declan was a madman who hated creats [immortal creatures] with a passion. His lifes purpose was to exterminate them and he'd put them through mega torture. I hated that he was a drug addict too. He was preventing himself from being who he really was by suppressing it with drugs. It nearly destroyed him.

However, I like a HEA too :) My favorite character is Nix aka Phenix. What a cutie pie! She is older than anyone and crazier :D

Waiting on Wednesday- The King by J.R.Ward

The King: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood

You can pre-order on Amazon

Expected publication:

March 25th 2014

The newest installment in J.R. Ward’s #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Wrath and the Brotherhood are locked in an epic battle over his throne and the very future of the vampire race.

Now that the Band of Bastards are on the scene, the throne is at stake. Xcor wants to take it over but that's fuckin unlikely. Wrath has had two assassination attempts on his life and Xcor is guilty. That's an automatic death sentence for trying to kill the king and I don't understand why it's taking so long. Meanwhile, "The King" and his beloved Shellan, Beth, will be trying to have a baby.

I Plan On Reading - The Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole

I finished reading

Uhhhhh.... nothing? ha! I'm still workin on it. I just didn't feel like reading. Sometimes it helps if I switch to a different reading format like a book to electronic or to audio? but I've exhausted my options :(

I'm currently reading

The Changelings
Lothaire♥♥♥
I hope to be finished listening to
Lothaire sometime soon but otherwise I'm a very slow reader. The book is dark and sexual and funny. Elizabeth Peirce - the human whose body is being possessed by an evil goddess named Saroya, is funny. Saroya is an evil bitch but Lothaire is quite troubling isn't he? His voice narrated by Robert Petkoff has a strong Russian accent and sounds so ....old. I couldn't match the voice with the face(on the front cover) at first. I also don't recommend starting the series with this book, like I did, because it may turn you off if you're not used to it. It took me awhile, but I can honestly say I am slowly 'loving' it and must read the whole series.

I Plan On Reading ♥

Stacking The Shelves

This week I finally bought some 'real' books. I'd been adding ebooks to my kindle like a mad hoarder. You can see on Friday Finds that I got a good stash of 'em . I also downloaded some awesome free audiobooks at SYNC and a couple on Audible. I used up all my free credits, but I only have to wait like 8 more days in which I will be able to get another free audiobook. I love audible! I usually like to get the book to read along from the library or somewhere.

Ok. Anyway I tried to figure out how to upload a short video from my camera that I made of my overflowing bookshelf but had no idea how to do it. Every shelf had two rows of books. Not anymore though. My Harry Potter books are in my hallway closet now :(

Friday Finds

Once in awhile I like to read biographies of famous people. I was hooked on Keeping Up With The Kardashians awhile ago and I remember them mentioning on some talk show, that they wrote a book -'Kardashian Konfidential'. This book isn't that one but I'd hoped this was about their real story, not some fictional characters representing them. I don't think the real Kardashians owned a restaurant. The food industry is not that glamorous but the real Kardashians own a retail clothing store called Dash.

For my kindle I found some of these for free from Free Par-TAY!!

Last saturday at Tim Flanagans Paranormal Romance Kindle book Event, I bought 4 ebooks for .99cents each. I'd been meaning to get the V.V Inn series by C.J.Ellisson for awhile and I'm so happy to have them now !

I just found these at Freebooksy.com . Love the covers

is a short story that blends romantic comedy and contemporary romance parody into one hilarious read.

ARIANNA ROSE is the first book in the series that follows and 18 year old girl, Arianna Rose, who is very unique. DON'T MAKE ME BEAUTIFUL

 Publishing August 30, 2013

A ROMANTIC SUSPENSE NOVEL.

No one knew a woman lived there or that she even existed. A monster, living in darkness…
At twenty-six, Nicole doesn’t even look human anymore. The beast made sure of that. So she hides. A monster consigned to a life of fear and solitude. This is all she deserves, she is quite sure of that. And then one day out of the blue, the autographed baseball caught by Brian Jensen at the latest Marlins game enters her prison and manages to turn her world completely upside down.
Temptation comes in the form of pity at first, and then perhaps something more.
Does she dare to believe the things she’s told, that this is not the life she was meant to live? That being a monster is not her forever-fate? And will she be willing to risk everything, to reach out and accept the helping hands around her? She knows only too well that hands can hurt. Finding out whether they can also heal is a risky proposition, especially when the beast is still out there. Looking for her.
**This story was inspired by true events. If you liked the movie “Sleeping With the Enemy”, then you might like this story too. CONTENT WARNING: Violence, foul language, and adult situations. Not meant for younger readers.**

The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green

Goodreads Choice 2012 Winner

Hazel has thyroid cancer which causes problems to her lungs making it hard to breathe. She has to carry an oxygen tank with her everywhere she goes. She also is forced to go to a cancer support group in the basement of The 'Literal' Heart of Jesus Church. Her and Augustus and Isaac made fun of it, but being catholic, it didn't offend me so much as it made me giggle.

Augustus Waters has a prosthetic leg and Isaac lost his eye and is going blind. They all attend Support Group, but Hazel really really really likes Augustus. She says he's hot. He came across like a dork to me but then again Hazel herself didn't strike me as startlingly attractive either. To be fair it probably had a lot to do with the audio's narrator Kate Rudd. Don't get me wrong, I thought she was a really good narrator it's just when it came to Augustus being hot I couldn't picture him in my mind.

It made me cry a lot but that's ok , I am an emotional being and anyway, Cancer is not my favorite topic. My favorite part in this book was when Hazel and Augustus are in Amsterdam eating dinner in some fancy restaurant [I forget the title] It was a very romantic evening.

Ok became a popular phrase in the book.
“Maybe 'okay' will be our 'always”

“He responded a few minutes later. Okay. I wrote back. Okay. He responded: Oh, my God, stop flirting with me!”

My rating: Liked It!
